It is a
dynamic and structured diagnostic process to detect and quantify the problems,
needs and abilities of the elderly in clinical areas, functional, mental and
social to develop a strategy based on them interdisciplinary intervention,
treatment and long-term monitoring in order to optimize resources and to
achieve the greatest degree of independence and, ultimately, quality of life. It
is considered the cornerstone of practice in geriatrics.
The tools

scales.
